With the introduction of the RWEYQ-P, the highly efficient combination of Daikin’s pioneering VRV® technology with water cooling now benefits from third generation VRV® technology. New features include individual heating and cooling changeover with the heat recovery option. There is also a new range available (RWEYQ-PR) that allows the use of geothermal energy. The RWEYQ-P retains the high efficiency associated with water cooled VRV®, obtaining the highest ratings on the market: EER’s up to 5, COP’s up to 6. Also new is an 8 HP unit to complement the 10 HP model, allowing a greater range of system combinations and support of up to 36 indoor units.
Highest efficiency on the market
Water is inherently more efficient than air in storing energy, leading to increased efficiency compared to traditional air-exchanger VRV® models. Water also lends itself well to sharing and recovering energy in diverse building systems, and even to recovering renewable energy from groundwater with the RWEYQ-PR range. The RWEYQ-PR is available in single unit (8 HP or 10 HP) installations and supports inlet water temperatures down to -10º C in heating mode. The relative stability of groundwater temperatures results in optimum system efficiency regardless of outdoor temperature.
Increased comfort
A new 8 HP outdoor unit has been added to complement the 10 HP model in the water cooled VRV®III range, allowing nine different combinations from 8 HP to 30 HP. Up to 36 indoor units can be connected, from an expanded range of 13 indoor models in 75 variations. The addition of a VRV®III BS Box heat recovery unit allows heating or cooling to be selectable per indoor unit for optimal comfort. Plus the RWEYQ-P can be connected to all current Daikin control systems.
Greater installation flexibility
Water cooling reduces system size and weight and increases installation flexibility due to the virtually limitless length and height of water piping. Refrigerant piping limits have also been increased, supporting total lengths up to 300 m. Thus, the benefits of VRV®III are now available to even taller buildings or buildings with installation constraints.
The RWEYQ-P supports inlet water temperatures from 10-45º C in both heating and cooling mode. For geothermal applications, the RWEYQ-PR supports inlet water temperatures down to -10°C in heating mode. And in line with Daikin Europe’s ongoing environmental efforts, the RWEYQ-P and RWEYQ-PR range are fully RoHS compliant.
