
Which factors affect the capacity of your air conditioner?
When choosing an air conditioning system, it is important to determine the required cooling capacity. A system with too little capacity can offer disappointing results, while a system that is overqualified often consumes too much energy for the job at hand. Figuring out the perfect capacity is a balancing act – because in addition to the surface area of the room, there are other important factors that influence the room temperature.
Insulation
The degree of insulation of the room is especially important. New residential buildings are often insulated so well that they only need extra cooling.
Number of people
People generate about 120W/h of heat. So the number of people using the space has an impact on the temperature. Both at home and in the office.
Personal preference
And maybe even most importantly, the ideal temperature differs from person to person: some like it cool, while others like it hot – or something in between.
